Bad experience today. It was a little busy so I waited at the bar for 10 mins to be served then I had to sit down as I cannot stand for long periods of time. Then I went to the bar again and waited after being ignored for a second time I asked the bar person if she was going to serve me? To which I was told she didn't see me and there was a queue, of two people, I told her I had previously been standing there for 10 minutes and if she did not want to serve me that was fine. She reluctantly served me in the end with a look of disdain. Not impressed. The previous times I have been here have had much better experience. On discussing my experience with Lee he took on board my comments and was very helpful and accommodating. Perhaps the youngsters of today have a different attitude to when I was their age. Shame.
Intended to have the carvery but the queue was so long we decided to go off the main menu, meal delicious but 3 of the 5 plates took ages coming out of the kitchen and then they forgot the side salad, rectified quickly when pointed out, the food was piping hot. Never had a bad meal here. Would definitely advise booking if you are going on a Saturday night or Sunday lunchtime, they get booked up pretty quickly, there is also a separate area for families with children.
Lovely family atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Tasty food. Fresh veg in the carvery not frozen stuff. You could actually telll the difference in the taste. Would definitely recommend the carvery.
Excellent hot food served in a timely manner. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Enjoyed a lovely meal in a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, we will be going to eat there again soon, thank you
More of a restaurant than a pub. We two went there about 9.55pm for a couple of pints and a chat. The bar had a limited choice of about three ales and three lagers. There were no tables that were not laid for meals. It was almost empty apart from a large party enjoying themselves and a few other tables. The background music was a little too loud. By 10.45, we were tactfully told they were closing in ten minutes. Two staff started Hoovering the carpet. To us, the eating area was too big, being all in one room and the place lacked any character/ambiance. We won't be returning.
